“Leading Together”

Have you considered how much you need the other members of your leadership team?

With many of our clients we often discuss "leading together", as it is critical that a leadership team becomes an actual team, not just a group of functional leaders that meet together each week (or month). Organizations have to navigate complex and dynamic environments that are beyond any single leader's ability to navigate, therefore, it is imperative that you have a team that “leads together” to fully reach your potential.

Think about some of the following things that impact a leadership team (and this is not an exhaustive list!):

  1. Black Swan events (the unknown unknowns) - think COVID

  2. Legal / Regulatory challenges - made more complex due to the differences in states and countries and the different levels from local all the way to national.

  3. Technology and the rapid changes occurring in that area (thinking of AI?).

  4. Disruptive innovation in your industry.

  5. Socio-Cultural issues.

  6. National and geopolitical forces (tariffs anyone?).

  7. Your competitive landscape.

  8. National and global economic forces.

  9. Workforce challenges (such as finding skilled labor in the trades for manufacturing)

  10. Your responsibility to be a good corporate citizen.

And along with all of those "winds" blowing upon your organization, you do need to make a profit!

Again, this is just a short list and by no means complete. The point is that no one person can navigate those perilous waters alone - you need a true team that "leads together".
